Overview
The Adoption Services of Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of New Orleans (CCANO), is a non-profit adoption agency licensed by the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services. CCANO has provided adoption services since the early 1900s and continues in its commitment to serving families created through adoption as well as other maternity and adoption related services.

Request for Background Information:
Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans is allowed to provide the available non-identifying background information to birth parents, adoptive parents, individuals that were adopted,  and /or siblings of the adopted person.

We recognize when requesting information the individual making the request may not have all of the below information. However, please provide as much of the below requested information that is available.

Search & Reunion Process:
If you are interested in a reunion with your birth family, it is necessary for you to register with the Louisiana Voluntary Registry (1-888-524-3578). You may access more information about the registry as well as the registry packet through the below link:

The Louisiana Voluntary Registry is a mutual voluntary registry which requires a birth parent, the adopted person, and / or a sibling to mutually register for a reunion to be facilitated. When a match is made through the registry, one session of counseling is required and may be provided by the Adoption Services of Catholic Charities.
